Seonaid Aitken - The Rose Room: ‘Celebrating 15 years of Hot Club Swing’

The Rose Room 15th Anniversary and CD Launch – their previous repertoire includes:- Gypsy Jazz Numbers: Joseph Joseph, Swing Gitane, Dark Eyes, Minor Swing 1920s/30s Songs: I Found A New Baby, If I Had You, I Saw Stars, I Wish You Love Standards: Lady Be Good, Nearness of You, It's Been a Long, Long Time, Don't Worry 'Bout Me. Double Scottish Jazz Award-winning band Rose Room are Scotland’s leading ensemble influenced by ‘Hot Club’ Parisian Swing. Led by virtuoso violinist, two-time Scottish Jazz Award-winning vocalist and BBC broadcaster Seonaid Aitken, the band also features Scotland’s No.1 guitar maker Jimmy Moon on double bass with Danny Kyle Award-winning Tam Gallagher on rhythm guitar. On solo guitar, and continuing in Rose Room’s second decade as a band, is an exceptional talent from Glasgow’s Southside; guitarist Conor Smith. Expect the effervescent sound of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli as they serve up a mix of 1930s standards, original music and Gyspy Jazz favourites with their signature flair and fireworks!

Marianne McGregor Quintet: ‘Make Believe’ Album Tour September 25’

Marianne McGregor is a powerful new voice in UK Jazz. Awarded ‘Best Vocalist’ at the Scottish Jazz Awards 2023, Marianne has been delighting sell-out audiences with her impressive voice and improvisation. Alongside her star-studded band of Scottish jazz musicians, Marianne will perform a programme of fresh interpretations of classic jazz favourites, with some exciting original material from her latest self-penned album ‘Make Believe’. Taking influence from the great jazz divas, Marianne uses expressive tone and delivery to embrace each audience in heartfelt ballads, swinging scat solos and songs that tell stories of life and love.

From sizzling samba to mellow bossa nova, including classic songs The Girl from Ipanema, Desfinado, and Corcovado, this is beautifully crafted music, delivered by a world-class, multi award-winning ensemble at the height of their powers. Matt McIlree Jazz Trio: ‘Jazz Piano with Stride & Swing’

McIlree – Piano / Duncan Kremer – Bass  / Nemo Ganguli – Drums

A jazz piano trio set mixing songbook standards in the cocktail lounge style with a few 1930s and 40s "novelty" pieces , as well as a few more recent jazz standards. The set takes inspiration from jazz legends Fats Waller, Errol Garner, and Ahmad Jamal, and also spotlights less-known pianists Billy Mayerl and Charlie Kunz. There will be plenty of relaxing swing tunes, and a couple of upbeat pieces in the exciting "stride" piano style to finish.

Tim Saul Quintet with Angela Duncan: ‘Angela Sings the American Song Book’

Alex Mark – Guitar / Robert Henderson – Trumpet & Flugelhorn / Paul McKay Bass  

The band has expanded over the years and this weekend is a quintet featuring Angela Duncan on vocals, performing a well-known selection of instrumental and vocal melodies chosen from The Great American Songbook. Angela Duncan comes from Rothesay on the Island of Bute, although based now in Paisley. Growing up in a Showbiz family she learned her craft and has gained masses of experience performing in Musical Theatre, Variety, Pantomime, Cabaret, Tv and Radio appearing throughout the UK. She is also an accomplished pianist. Angela has a great stage presence and personality along with her wide repertoire of songs which she performs effortlessly, ranging from Modern Ballads & Timeless Classic Standards, Songs from the Musicals, Country, Rhythm & Blues, Soul & Motown Classics, Jazz, and crossing over with her 3-octave vocal range to touch on Light Opera. She’s worked extensively throughout Europe and the UK. Angela was voted People’s Choice Scottish Best Entertainment Act 2024 & 2025

All Sessions in the Glenburn Hotel Function Suite - Cabaret style: All Sessions 2 hours running time including 20 minute Interval. Doors are open 30 Minutes prior start time. Bar & Tea/Coffee Facilities available.

Tickets individual Sessions £15. Five Session Weekend Ticket £50 until 01 June £55/£60 monthly thereafter.
